Patrick Johnson Obituary

Dec 2, 1948 - Feb 8, 2026

Patrick Robert Johnson, age 77, of Cambridge, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Embassy of Cambridge. He was born on December 2, 1948, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to John Edward Johnson and Anna Lee (Taron) Johnson.

Pat was a 1967 graduate of Worthington High School. Following graduation, he returned to Shawnee, Oklahoma, where he worked on the family farm. During that time, he earned an Associate Degree in Ranch Management from Eastern Oklahoma State University. In 1971, the Johnson family relocated their farming operation to Lore City, Ohio. Pat farmed 756 acres there for more than four decades, continuing until he suffered a stroke in August of 2012.

Pat proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and was a faithful member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church. He was known for his strong work ethic and deep roots in the land he loved.

He is survived by his daughter, Misty (Adam) Lawrence; his son, Dusty (Alicia) Johnson; his sister, Diane (John) Boyhan of Venice, Florida; two brothers, Charles A. (Barb) Johnson of Blaine, Washington, and Lawrence J. (Jill) Johnson, Ph.D., of Sylvania, Ohio; his grandchildren, Haley Johnson (17), Scarlett Johnson (8), and Tristan Johnson (6); along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A rosary wake service will be held at St. Benedict Catholic Church on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 9:30 am at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Shawnee, OK. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Pat lived half a mile up the road from me and we experienced caring for an orphan foal together after his mare died. Condolence to his family

I have many fun memories of Pat! I remember being maybe 5 years old and sitting on his lap while he let me steer his bright orange speed boat. What a thrill!!!

I remember being mesmerized by him burning sage in his basement.

I remember how his house smelled.

I remember putting up hay on his farm in my 20s. He worked ne hard, and we had a good time. He played a Bob Dylan album while work in the hay loft. Highway 61, what a great album to be turned onto to, thank you Pat! He payed me in tires once because he was worried about my safety.

I remember him playing his dulcimer for like 2hrs straight in my parent's office. It was great.

Rest easy.
