Patrick Kavanagh, 44, of Wakefield, known to many as "Pat," passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Patrick graduated from Wakefield High School in 1992 and Mass College of Art in 1996. Patrick was known for his quick wit and artistic flair. He was every retail stockroom manager's dream with his tireless work ethic and keen eye for organization. Those who knew Patrick laughed often and could always expect to tuck in for a well-told story complete with dramatic animation and spot-on impersonations. He loved all things art, movies, music and color. He was a voracious reader, occasional writer, and devoted movie fan. He was the beloved son of Jean (O'Neill) Kavanagh and the late Ronald Kavanagh. Patrick is survived by his sister, Colleen Getty, and her husband George of Wakefield, MA as well as his brother, Ryan Kavanagh, of Salem, MA. Patrick will be sorely missed by his three adoring nieces, Alice, Clara and Madeline and nephew Charles. Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 11 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4-7 p.m. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery Wakefield. If you would like to honor Patrick—make art and laugh often. Those who knew Pat knew a man who was truly a kid at heart and for that reason we ask that in lieu of flowers you direct any gifts in Patrick's memory to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham and Wakefield, 15 Dale Court, Stoneham, MA 02180 or www.bgcstoneham.org.

I worked with Patrick around 2009 one of my first jobs at crate & barrel. A very tough job and many not friendly people in the warehouse. Occasionally Patrick would fill in. When I knew it would be him & I closing the warehouse I'd know that it would be a nice, laid-back, mellow night with laughs & his many funny stories.

To Pat's family, I send my deepest condolences. It is tough to lose a special person in one's family and I wish you all peace and joy in the memory of Pat.

I knew Pat during high school and he was a friendly, talented, funny and unique person. Its been a long time since I've seen him so this news was a shock to me.

cheers

I remember Patrick as a sweet little boy at the Roosevelt School. When he moved to a different school, it gave me my first experience of saying goodbye to someone. As an adult, we only had a friendship via Facebook, but I always appreciated and loved his funny, thoughtful "likes", "comments" and messages. It was social media at its best. Patrick, you are loved.

Patrick could talk to anybody. And make them laugh. I saw him at many a party and always felt better after talking to him.

A genius with accents, too. He had a warm, kind heart. I'll miss him very much.

My deepest sympathies.

So sad and shocked to hear of Patrick's passing. I recall many fun summers on Cape Cod, family cook-outs and family parties and Patrick ever-ready with a funny story or keen observation that would always make me laugh.
He is gone too soon ...he will be lovingly missed. He was much loved by all. Everyone should have a Patrick in their family!
My prayers go out to my wonderful Auntie Jean and my cousins Colleen and Ryan. God bless you all in this time of sadness.

My heart skipped a beat as I learned about Patrick's passing. I know that sometimes life was hard for him, but he always had a humorous way of getting through it. I recall my days at the Disney Store and all of his hilarious antics! He was one of my favorite people to work with. He made me a mix tape, scared the bejeezus out of me back stage in the stock room sometimes and he made such cool art. I have lived in FL for the past 18 years, but I had always hoped that someday I would see him again on one of my trips home. I regret that it didn't happen in time. Patrick, you will be missed. My sympathies to all of his family. - Sandra Cavicchi
