Patrick Hugh Kelly, born on June 1, 1964, in Mt. Clemens, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 14, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center in West Branch, MI. Patrick was a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather whose life was enriched by his passion for great outdoors, family, and construction.
Pat graduated from Ogemaw Heights High School in 1982, beginning a life filled with hard work and dedication. He spent his career working in construction alongside his cherished brother, Mike. Their bond extended beyond blood, built through years of shared labor and life experiences.
An avid outdoorsman, Pat found joy and solace in the arms of nature. He cherished fishing trips, hunting excursions, and horseshoes games, moments that brought him peace and happiness. However, it was spending time with his grandchildren, who held his heart completely. Pat delighted in their laughter, sharing countless memories that will forever be etched in their hearts.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his daughter, Shawna (Shane); his grandchildren, Evelyn, Leo, and Maria; siblings, Penny Kelly, Mike (Anita) Kelly, and Carrie (Pat) Forro, as well as his brother-in-law, Bob Mettert and sister-in-law, Judi Kelly. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
While Pat has departed from this world, he is now rejoining his parents, Hugh and Shirley (Zimmer) Kelly, as well as his brother, Tim, and sister, Pam, who preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. Chaplain Karen Orban will officiate.
Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
