BEVERLY – Mr. Patrick "Joe" King Sr., 78, of Beverly, beloved husband of Elizabeth a (Butler) King, died Friday, October 25, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Borris, County Carlow, Ireland, he was the son of the late Patrick J. and Ellen (Murphy) King. He was raised and educated in Ireland and graduated High School in Ireland. He was one of 12 brothers and sisters. A member of the Irish Army, he served his country as a member of the Military Police. Mr. King immigrated to the United States and lived on the North Shore for many years. He had been employed as a Machinist for many years most recently with C & C Machine. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Pat was an avid sports fan and loved to cheer on his favorite teams, the Boston red Sox, the new England Patriots and the Boston bruins. He was a competitive Dart Shooter on the North Shore; he was a member of many dart leagues and with his skill and acumen he won several tournaments over the years. He had a love of music and dancing and was always the life of the party. He would be the first to hit the dance floor with his forever Dance partner, his beloved wife doing a classic Irish Jig, yet above all else it was always spending time with his family and friends when Patrick was happiest. He was devoted loving kind, funny and will be deeply missed and forever celebrated. Patrick is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth (Butler) king of Beverly, his daughters, Maryellen King of Beverly and Elizabeth King of Beverly, his son, Patrick J. King Jr and his wife Lori Sanborn of Derry, N.H., his beloved grandchildren, Matthew, Ashley and Erica and seven great grandchildren, his siblings, Billy, Rose and Kit all of Ireland and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate and honor Patrick's life at the Italian Community Center (I.C.C), 302 Rantoul St., Beverly, Thursday, Oct. 31st from 5 to 9 P.M. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers. So many fond memories of Mr. King playing away in Mom and Dad's garage, for some celebration or another. My personal favorite was my oldest, my daughter Meghan, sleeping away in her cot at her Christening Party propped right in front of a speaker! Thank You for ALL the wonderful memories you are a part of Mr. King. RIP

Our deepest condolences to the King family. My sister in law and I shared many great conversations with Pat and Betty at the Irish dances. Pat was always so friendly and had a great sense humor. We will miss him very much. Wishing you peace at this difficult time.

Dear Betty and family, After seeing in the paper the passing of Joe I felt much sadness for you and the family and at the same time I had to smile thinking back on past memories shared.
we were young people having babies and living at our beginning apartment house in Beverly. Joe also played at a surprise going away party for Bill and I hosted by Joyce and Arnie in North Beverly..fun time.
I will share the enclosed announcement with Marie MacIntire who is now back in PEI and is now a well known fiddler and guitarist. Thinking fondly of you and Joe and we wish you God's peace in the days ahead.
