Patrick Francis Mahoney, 92, of Gambrills, Maryland, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026. Patrick was born on October 2, 1933, in Carlin, Nevada, to Vincent P. Mahoney and Hannah M. (Flynn) Mahoney. He was raised in Nevada and went on to pursue higher education with distinction, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Nevada, Reno, followed by a law degree from Georgetown University.
Patrick served on active duty in the United States Army at Fort Ord, California, fulfilling his military service with dedication and discipline. While attending law school, he worked for Senator Alan Bible of Nevada and State Farm Mutual Insurance Company, gaining valuable experience in both legal and government service.
After completing his legal education, Patrick embarked on a long and respected career as an attorney. He was an original partner in the law firm of Giordano, Alexander, Haas, Mahoney, and Bush in Southern Prince George’s County. In 1979, Patrick founded his own firm in Fort Washington, Maryland. He later relocated to Waldorf, and the firm became the law offices of Mahoney & Mahoney LLC when his son, Kevin, joined in 1993. Patrick retired after approximately fifty years, serving his clients and community with integrity, professionalism, and steadfast dedication.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent P. Mahoney and Hannah M. (Flynn) Mahoney, his brothers, Vincent Mahoney and David Mahoney; and his granddaughter, Allison Logue.
