Patrick Lawrence Gerard McCarthy, born on February 10, 1959, in North Platte, Nebraska, passed away on September 18, 2025, in Weatherford, Texas, at the age of 66.
Patrick was raised in North Platte and graduated from North Platte High School. He built a long and successful career in professional roofing systems, spending 25 years with Armko Industries and working in various locations across the country. A proud Harley man, Patrick found great joy in riding motorcycles and was a dedicated fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. His love for music was reflected in his vast collection of albums, which he treasured.
One of his proudest achievements was reaching 30 years of sobriety this year—a testament to his strength and determination.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Alice (Murphy) McCarthy and Lawrence Richard McCarthy; his sister, Therese McCarthy Garth; and his brother, Paul McCarthy.
He is survived by his daughter, Kayla Guzman and her husband, Juan, of Weatherford, Texas; his son, Joshua McCarthy of Forest City, Arkansas; and his loving companion of over six years, Myrna M. Maca of Fort Worth, Texas. He also leaves behind his siblings: Margaret Cunningham and her husband, Raymond, of St. Louis, Missouri; Sharon Hassler of Arroyo Grande, California; Robert McCarthy and his wife, Deb, of North Platte, Nebraska; and Joseph McCarthy and his wife, Kimberly, of Fort Worth, Texas. Patrick was a proud grandfather to Hunter, Luke, Clint, and Madison, and was cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Patrick’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Alpine Funeral Home, located at 2300 N. Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111.
