Patsy Blackstock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home - Wills Point on Mar. 17, 2026.
Patsy Ruth Blackstock (Little), age 92, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, in Carrollton, Texas. Born on August 5, 1933, in Fort Worth, Texas, Patsy lived a life marked by faith, dedication, and love for her family and community.

Patsy married the love of her life, Floyd Melvin Blackstock Jr., on January 17, 1948, in Waco, Texas. She was just 14 years old at the time, and together they built a life filled with hard work and devotion until his passing in 2010. After their children completed school, Patsy and Floyd fulfilled a dream by purchasing 13 acres in Wills Point, where they enjoyed the beauty of nature and the fruits of their labor.

A proud Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Patsy dedicated herself to caring for others. She worked for several years at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Her commitment to her profession was unwavering; she renewed her nursing license every year without fail-even as recently as 2025. Her dedication to her career reflected her kind and thoughtful nature.

Patsy was a woman of many talents and passions. She found joy in sewing and quilting, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her creativity and care. A lover of nature, she tended to a large vegetable garden and cultivated vibrant flower gardens that brought her immense happiness. Patsy also had a special way with animals and took great pleasure in caring for them throughout her life.

Her faith was central to who she was. A devoted member of the Baptist faith, Patsy worshipped at First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. Her faith guided her actions and inspired those around her.

Patsy is survived by her loving children: sons Melvin Blackstock and his wife Connie; David Blackstock and his wife Gracie; and daughter Cheryl Ann Blackstock Martyn. She also leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Jarrod Blackstock and his wife Donna; Shaun Beck and his wife Rachael; Ashlyn Blackstock Shoemake and her husband Austin; Carlie Blackstock; and Brandon Burrough and his wife Emilee. Patsy's legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Kaden McCune, Navaeh Beck, Aaliyah Beck, Paul Blackstock, Legend Beck, Uriah Burrough and Bryson Burrough.

She is reunited in eternal rest with her beloved husband Floyd Melvin Blackstock Jr.; her parents Robert Manual Little and Viola Parry Little; and siblings Robbie Lee Parker (and husband Cliff), T.J. Little (and wife Nikki), Estelle Henry, Mary Frances Ziering (and husband Fred), Frankie Joy Roberts (and husband Mack), and Howard Donly Little (and wife Nettie).

Patsy will be laid to rest alongside Floyd at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas, on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 10 AM.

Her memory will live on through the lives she touched with her kindness, thoughtfulness, faith-filled spirit, and hardworking nature. May those who knew Patsy find comfort in remembering the love she shared so freely with all around her.
