Patrick R. McLaughlin, 60, of Washington, died at 8:20 am on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, after a lengthy illness. Patrick was born December 23, 1962, in Bloomington, to Eldon R. McLaughlin and Catherine O. McLaughlin.
Surviving are two brothers: Mike (JoEllen) McLaughlin of Goodfield, Joe (Kevyn) McLaughlin of Eureka; one brother-in-law: Terry Everett; niece: Amanda (Charles) Woods; and nephews: Logan (Abby) Everett, Luke (Ami) McLaughlin, Teagan McLaughlin.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents; sister, Julie Everett; son, Dewghan McLaughlin; infant grandson, Owen Shay; and his four-legged best friend, Tootsie.
Patrick was an incredibly talented baseball player in his youth, pitching against the likes of Kirby Puckett, Joe Gerardi, and Mike Dunne. He has held the single season homerun record at Eureka High School for 43 years. He was an avid deer hunter and lover of the Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Cardinals. A loving son, father, brother, uncle, and friend; he will be incredibly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A private family memorial will be held, with a celebration of life for family and friends to follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eureka High School baseball team, memo: Pat McLaughlin Memorial and be sent to Eureka High School, 200 W. Cruger Ave., Eureka, IL. 61530.
