After a courageous and arduous battle with an illness that overtook him, Patrick Wayne Mitcham passed from this world on the morning of November 27, 2025, to meet his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. He spent his final days surrounded by family and close friends, especially his 3 children that he loved dearly.
Patrick was born on January 15, 1980, to Larry Dale Mitcham and Vera Chadwick. He grew up in Sterling City and graduated from Sterling City High School where he was known for his strength and exceptional athletic ability on the football and track field. After high school, he attended technical training to work with the Wind Energy program growing around the central and west Texas regions. His successful career as a tech for the Wind Turbines with both Siemens and EON Energy, Patrick finished as a Lead Technician with Pearce Services.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Cyndee Mitcham of Water Valley, his son, Jacob Richardson of San Marcos, his daughter Paisley Mitcham and son, Parker Mitcham, both of San Angelo, and stepson, John Austin Stevens of San Angelo. He is also survived by his mother, his maternal grandmother, Bessie Chadwick, and aunts, Virgie Bartee and Joy Booth.
Ready to greet him at Heaven’s gates were his father, Larry Dale Mitcham and his great-uncle and aunt, Don and Margie Ladner. Besides his family, Patrick will be greatly missed by so many dear friends that he grew up with and other friendships he made during his life’s journey, especially, Randy and Roberta McCrea of Sterling City, and former mother-in-law and final caregiver, Carol Halfmann of San Angelo.
A memorial service will be held on December 13th at 2pm at the First Methodist Church in Sterling City with Ross Copeland and Derek Ouellette both officiating. A small memorial service will follow at gravesite in Tuscola Cemetery near the resting place of his father.
