Patrick Evan Mitchell Sr., 77, of Latrobe, passed away Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. He was born Apr. 20, 1947, in Latrobe to the late Bernard and Katherine (Sheminski) Mitchell. He served his country during the Vietnam era as a member of the U.S. Army. Patrick worked many years as a manager for K-Mart Corporation, with over 20 of those years in the Cape Cod area. Where he met and worked with his wife Francine. Additionally, he served as a wine steward at the Rolling Rock Club and he even ran his own woodworking business for several years, sharing his talents and creative side with family and clients. Patrick was a member of Holy Family Church, and the American Legion Post No. 515. He enjoyed flying Cessna airplanes, driving Triumph TR4’s and was a talented dancer who could really Jitter-Bug. He also enjoyed acting and participating in all parts of theater productions. Patrick was preceded in death by his father in law, Sabino “Nino” DiNunno, his mother in law, Gloria (LeBlanc) DiNunno; and a brother in law, John Maffia. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Francine M. (DiNunno) Mitchell; two sons, Patrick E. Mitchell Jr. (Maura) and Ryan T. Mitchell (Rachel); seven grandchildren, Kaylee (Jack Kruel), Emilee, Noah, Jonas, Jordan, Judah, and Levi; one great grandson, Kolton; a sister, Mary Ann Maffia; a sister in law, Denise Buote (John); four brothers in law, Donald DiNunno (Marcia), Nino DiNunno (Debbie), Chris DiNunno (Cecilia), Rich DiNunno (Lisa); as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025, at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, Latrobe, PA, with Fr. George Saletrik as celebrant.
