Patrick James O'Brien, age 43, of Decatur, Georgia, passed away on August 21, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Patrick was born on July 7, 1982, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was known for his quick wit, passion for food, love of music, and his unwavering affection for his family and friends. A talented drummer and amazing chef, Patrick often showed his love by cooking for those he cared about.

He grew up in Decatur, Georgia, and spent time in Middle Tennessee, but Atlanta was always where his heart belonged. Patrick was deeply proud of his Irish Heritage and had a lifelong love of history. Above all, Patrick's greatest joy in life was being a father to his beautiful daughter, Molly Alexandre O'Brien. She was the light of his life and his proudest achievement.

Patrick was preceded in death by his father, James William O'Brien of Atlanta, Georgia. He is the beloved son and is survived by Kathy Kellogg O'Brien, his daughter Molly Alexandre O'Brien, and her mom, Lisa Clark.

his brother, Wesley Sevier Ridley, and his sister, Dierdre O'Brien Tompkins. Patrick was also deeply loved by his many Aunts, Uncles, nieces, and cousins, who will forever cherish his memory.

A heartfelt thank you to the ICU nurses and doctors of Grady Hospital.

Patrick will forever be remembered for his laughter, sense of humor, and gentle spirit. He will be profoundly missed and forever cherished.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to take a moment and honor Patrick by loving deeper and holding the ones you love closer.
