Patrick S O'Carroll

Patrick Stanton "Lance" O'Carroll passed away on November 2, 2025, in Gainesville at the age of 75.
Patrick was born August 9, 1950, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Peter O'Carroll Sr. and Florence Stanton O'Carroll. He graduated from Landry High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana, in 1968. He served three years in the U.S. Army as a Special Forces Green Beret soldier. Over many years as a restaurateur, Pat owned several restaurants: Pat O'Carroll's, The Vault, P.O.'s Downtown, Jiggles, and The Big Easy in Lake Charles; Pat O'Carroll's in Destin, Florida; and Quizno's in Gainesville.
His life was marked by care and action on behalf others, especially persons in need and persons with disabilities. He worked for Catholic Charities in Denver, and in Gainesville he served in prison ministry, outreach to the homeless, and strong pro-life advocacy for unborn babies and their mothers.
Patrick is survived by daughter Caitlin Snider (Pamela Person); brother Peter O'Carroll Jr. and his wife, Mary Ellen; sister-in-law Mara O'Carroll; nieces Jennifer Friday, Erin Nickel and Jessica Hall; nephews Peter O'Carroll III and John O'Carroll; grandsons Liam Person Snider and Peyton Person Snider; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Michael O'Carroll, and his sister Mary Teresa O'Carroll. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Monday, Nov. 10, in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Lake Charles.
