Patrick Ormond II

In Loving Memory of Patrick John Ormond II September 22, 1942 – June 10, 2025
Patrick John Ormond II passed away surrounded by family, leaving behind a life rich with adventure, dedication, and love.
Born on September 22, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Patrick was the beloved son of Catherine Louise Ormond (née Whissel) of Cambridge, Ohio, and Patrick John Ormond-later known as Major Robert John Ormond-who was born in Wexford, Ireland and remains Missing in Action as a Prisoner of War, from the Korean War. Though Patrick never had the chance to truly know his father, that loss deeply shaped the man he became: strong, resilient, and fiercely devoted to those he loved.
He graduated from Saint Xavier High School in Cincinnati and went on to attend Georgetown University for two years, where he laid the foundation for a lifetime of curiosity. His family often joked that he was a walking encyclopedia-he truly seemed to know something about everything. He never stopped learning and was always happy to share that knowledge, whether it was with his grandchildren or a stranger at the hardware store.
Patrick wore many hats throughout his life: traveling shoe salesman for Florsheim Shoes, a rep for Sweetheart Cup Company, entrepreneur, restaurateur, and business owner. He started his own production company, ran a local favorite eatery called The Chicken Place in Littleton, and later owned and operated three Fantastic Sams salons in the Denver Metro Area.
But perhaps some of his proudest work was in service to his community. He served as a Reserve Sheriff's Deputy with Jefferson County for 18 years-working in civil service, jail operations, patrol, and even in the helicopter unit. He also served as the lead financial crimes investigator for King Soopers, overseeing cases across a 10-store region. He gave his time and talents without hesitation.
Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Diana M. Ormond, who was his constant companion and partner in every chapter. He leaves behind his daughters, Diana P. Ormond (husband Samuel H. Green; children Samuel, Shannon, and Brendan) and Patricia D. Letchworth (husband Jeffery T. Letchworth; son Declan), who he was immensely proud of-not only for their accomplishments, but for the compassionate and strong women they became. He was especially proud of their service to the country as Officers of the U.S. Navy.
He is also survived by his brother Dennis Ormond, by three sons from his first marriage, and by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. His legacy lives on in all of them. Patrick was predeceased by his parents and his youngest brother, Michael Ormond.
To his grandchildren, he was a source of fun facts, warm hugs, and unconditional love. He never missed a chance to spend time with them, cheer them on, or teach them something new.
Patrick was the kind of man who would drop anything to help you. He believed in showing up, in working hard, in doing what's right. His humor, wisdom, and deep kindness will be missed by all who knew him.
