Patrick passed away peacefully on August 4, 2024, at the age of 74.
Patrick Jon Rasmussen was born April 10, 1950, the youngest son of Leslie and Marcia ‘Joan’ (Whitney) Rasmussen.
Patrick married Lynn Sayers Hahn, September 20, 1975, she preceded him in death, February 17,1989.
Patrick and Lynn lived a busy life with the raising of two daughters and a son. They worked together building a home and traveling to Florida, Hawaii, Canada, Mexico, and out west. Patrick also started his own business, Rasmussen & Associates Insurance, of which he was very proud. Patrick was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed deer and pheasant hunting. He had great times shooting trap at the gun club with friends and family. Some of his favorite stories and memories were from his hunting trips out west. In his free time Pat would enjoy shooting a good game of pool, hunting with his dogs or working on his tractor. He took pride in his home and family. Patrick enjoyed the life he led and loved his family and friends very much.
Patrick is survived by two daughters, Shannon (Bill) Berndt, Shawna (Dennis) Bourgard, son Thane (Andrea) Rasmussen and his beloved grandchildren Brittany, Tamber, Robert and Taylor. Also his ‘other’ son, Ben and many extended family members.
Patrick is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Lynn and his brothers Stephen and Michael Rasmussen.
The funeral service for Patrick will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Waid Funeral Home. Pastor Greg Laska will officiate. The visitation will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service, also at the funeral home. Interment at Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery will take place at a later date.
