Patrick Rodriguez Obituary

Patrick Trevor Rodriguez "PROD"
May 28, 1986 - July 1, 2024
Patrick Trevor Rodriguez, born May 28, 1986, in Lancaster, California passed away tragically while riding his motorcycle on July 1, 2024. Beloved son of Peggy Keegan Rodriguez and Oscar Rodriguez. Pat was raised in Santa Rosa, having moved there as a baby. His family are Santa Rosa natives, rooted in Sonoma County, loving grandson of Ed Keegan and Vivian Keegan.
Patrick attended Sequoia Elementary, Rincon Valley Middle School and graduated in 2004 from Maria Carillo High School where he had an illustrious sports career in football and baseball. He was All League and All Empire in both sports, a pitcher in baseball and a wide receiver in football. Pat is the only Sonoma County pitcher to lead his team to back-to-back NCS Baseball Championships in 2002 and 2003. He went on to SRJC, playing baseball for the Bear Cubs then on to Shasta College.
Pat shattered his pitching arm ending his pitching career, so he moved on to South Lake Tahoe Junior College earning a fire science AA degree and attended the Lake Tahoe Basin Fire Academy earning his firefighter 1 certificate and EMT certificate. While in Tahoe, Pat fell in love with cooking. While attending school he worked in kitchens all over Tahoe, learning his trade. He moved back to Santa Rosa, pursuing his chef career in lieu of firefighting. Pat worked at many local restaurants in Santa Rosa over the years, ending up at Ausiello's Homeslice in Rincon Valley. He loved working there and felt at home being back in Rincon Valley where he grew up. Ausiello's was his Homeslice. He loved his work family. Pat helped set up Homeslice for their opening in December 2023. His coworkers were his extended family, and he loved each and every one of them.
Patrick was well known in Santa Rosa, being the center of the downtown community. His love for his friends was unmeasured. He was a loyal friend and never met a stranger in his life. His heart was as big as a lion. He was capable of giving great love. There was nothing he would not do for a friend; his friends were his family, and he had many. His parents are now comforted by this huge family of friends, and they are thankful for the love being shown to them in this tragic time.
Patrick touched so many lives in his short 38 years. Some need 80 years to experience life, Patrick only needed 38. His 38 years were packed with more experience than most get in 80 years. He was an incredible artist, creative and expressive. He was funny, kind, and loving. He kept those around him in stitches with his undeniable humor. He held many in his heart when they needed his love. He gave it to all willingly. He was an incredibly special man and will be greatly missed in Sonoma County.
In lieu of flowers, Oscar and Peggy would request memorial donations be made to the Maria Carrillo Baseball team or Maria Carrillo Football team in Patrick's name. They also want Patrick's community of friends to know the love being shown all over Santa Rosa for them has touched them greatly in this tragic time. They feel your love and your incredible love for Patrick, their son. A celebration of PROD's life is being planned and are welcome. Information will be posted once we have a date.

So sorry for your loss. We did´nt get to spend a lot of time with Pat but we especially enjoyed a fun time with him at our family cabin. He and Casey are so much fun and entertainment when they are together and we love Casey´s tales of some of their escapades! What an amazing friendship those two red heads shared. Sending love and prayers to your family and all of Pat´s loved ones. We know he is smiling down on you from heaven.
