Donohue Funeral Home - West ChesterPatrick M. Ryan, age 46, of Drexel Hill, PA, was taken from us suddenly and unexpectedly on December 16, 2025.
Born in Upland, PA, he was the loving son of Joseph P. and Mary S. Ryan (nee Silvoy). Patrick was the beloved brother of Jessica K. Ryan and Heather S. Ryan (Kirk Hinds) and predeceased by his brother, Andrew J. Ryan.
Patrick enjoyed staying active and being outdoors, especially playing ice hockey in multiple leagues, including charity events, and hiking with his beloved dog, Dustin, at Newlin Grist Mill. He was a proud graduate of Monsignor Bonner, and his days of playing ice hockey there were among happiest of his life. It seemed as though he was born with a hockey stick in hand. He learned the game from his father, and together they shared a lifelong passion for hockey that created countless cherished memories, traveling for his Bonner games and bantering about the Flyers.
He held fond childhood memories of growing up in Collingdale, where his early years were shaped by family, community, and faith. He loved family vacations to Myrtle Beach and valued his Catholic upbringing, which remained an important part of who he was throughout his life.
Patrick enjoyed accompanying his mom to various social functions. He held the time spent with her close to his heart. He especially cherished long phone conversations with her during his drives to Pittsburgh while working there. A foodie at heart, he loved exploring new restaurants and shared daily photos of his latest finds in the family group chat. His family loved his famous shrimp salad and the pictures he shared of the many different hoagies he tried. As a music lover, his tastes ranged from Metallica to The Notorious B.I.G.
He treasured making cut-out Christmas cookies with his sister, Jessica, and enjoyed spending time at his sister and brother-in-law’s home for special gatherings. A natural handyman, he was always eyeing things he could help fix around the house.
His love language was helping others, and he took great pride in his work as a Project Manager at TLC Restoration, where his customers truly loved him. He valued the people he met along the way and deeply cherished his neighbors in Drexel Hill and the neighborhood gatherings that brought them together. He left a mark wherever he went.
Family and friends are invited to Patrick’s Visitation 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, January 9, 2026 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by his Memorial Service at 8:00 PM. Interment Private.
In lieu of flowers, and in recognition of his strength as a brain tumor survivor who underwent multiple surgeries, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the National Brain Tumor Society, online at https://braintumor.org.
