Barry Bowe

Barry Stephen Bowe, aka Tough Guy, passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2025 at 2:30 pm.
Barry was born in Nanticoke PA on July 11th, 1943, His parents relocated shortly after to the Borough of Folcroft in Delaware County PA. He attended Clifton Heights High School, where he excelled at baseball, basketball and football, and graduated in 1961. He also attended West Chester State College, where he played football and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Spanish in 1966. Barry had become an accomplished authorand later podcaster and was widely recognized for his book "Born to be Wild". He also wrote the sports section for the St. Croix Daily News for many years, while residing in the Virgin Islands. He is predeceased by his parents Edward and Claire Bowe. He was loving father to Stephanie Anne "Stevie" and Edward and known and cherished as Pop Barry to his grandson Zachery and granddaughter Alli and always aided and prodded but most of all loved by his favorite ex wife Gretchen. Take care Tough Guy, you touched the lives and will be dearly missed by many,, the Big Man upstairs will have his hands full with you.

Visitation 10-11am on Tuesday
Burial: Private
In lieu of flowers the family requested that a tree be planted in Barry's name.
