Patrick Samek, 65, of Moorhead, MN, died unexpectedly in Dateland, AZ on March 12, 2024 while traveling.
Patrick John Samek was born August 9, 1958 in Jamestown, ND to George and Agnes (Kuemper) Samek. He went to school in Wimbledon, ND and graduated from high school there. He attended college in Devils Lake, ND where he received his Diesel Tech Associates Degree.
Pat worked for John Deere in Wimbledon. In November of 1992, he met LaVaye Thorstad, and they married in 1996 in Las Vegas, NV.
Pat worked for Stein's Inc. in Moorhead, MN for 20 years until retiring in 2017 so he could fulfill his lifelong dream of traveling with LaVaye. They would put on thousands of miles each year traveling the southwest and enjoying staying in many different places throughout the winter months.
When not traveling, Pat loved spending time with his many beloved grandchildren on their camping adventures. He enjoyed time tinkering around with anything that moves and had all of the fun toys the grandkids loved.
Pat will be dearly missed by his wife, LaVaye; children, Brett (Catherine) England, Ryan (Heather) England, Derik (Amanda) Samek, Lindsay (Jesse) Vickerman, Desirae (Travis) Fugere; seventeen grandchildren; and siblings, Dorothy (Kim) Richards, Joanne (Mark) Olson, Susan (Jim) Gion, Cara (Philip) Murphy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dennis; daughter, Marni England.
