Patrick "Pat" Joseph Sexton, age 65, of
Lake View, IA, passed away unexpectedly on December 25, 2025.
Pat was born on January 30, 1960, in
Cleveland, OH, to Reuben and Josephine (née Nelli) Sexton. When he was young, the family moved to New Jersey, and during his teenage years they relocated to Fruitville, Florida, where Pat formed many lasting friendships.
For several years, Pat worked as a framing carpenter in Florida. While playing league darts at Mom's Corner Café in Sarasota, he met the love of his life, Amy Gross, originally from Iowa. The couple later moved to Amy's hometown of Lake View and were united in marriage on July 15, 1995, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ. They were blessed with two children, Tony and Alyssa, who were the pride of Pat's life.
Pat attended Iowa Central Community College, where he earned his degree in Radiologic Technology. He worked weekend shifts at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines for more than 13 years. He later worked at Evapco in Lake View before finishing his career at Pella in Carroll, retiring in 2024.
Pat loved fishing and could often be found enjoying the peace and quiet of the water. He enjoyed playing games on his phone, especially his golf game, and cheering on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He also loved watching golf on television. Pat was a talented cook and someone who always spoke his mind. Though he could seem a bit gruff at times, those who knew him best understood that he was truly a teddy bear at heart and always willing to help others.
Pat deeply valued time spent with close friends and family. He was a member of the Black Hawk Men's Club and enjoyed listening to classic rock and 105.9 The Beach. Over the years, Pat and his family made many trips to Florida to visit his side of the family, creating memories they will always treasure. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Pat is survived by his wife of thirty years, Amy Sexton of
Lake View, IA; his children, Tony and Alyssa Sexton of
Lake View, IA; his brother, Randy Sexton of DeBary, FL; his mother-in-law, Sandy Gross of
