Patrick "Pat" G. Shockey, age 83, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 4:24 p.m. at Silvercrest Place in New Albany, Indiana.

He was born on July 29, 1942, in Middletown, Ohio, to the late Charles Edmund "Buzz" Shockey and Eula Bessie Nickell. Pat was a proud graduate of Middletown High School and honorably served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Following his military service, He become a dedicated educator, teaching at Jeffersonville High School where he also served as the tennis coach, sharing his love for the game with generations of students. In addition, he was a respected language arts instructor at Indiana University Southeast.

Pat was a private and thoughtful man, known for his gentle spirit, his devotion to teaching, and his lifelong passion for tennis. Whether on the court or in the classroom, he touched countless lives through his encouragement, guidance, and example.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beth Shockey; son, Dr. Chuck Shockey; and his daughter, Heather Shockey. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Shelly Herald and a bother, Richard "Dick" Shockey

Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice in Pat's memory.
