Patrick James "Pat" Walston

Our hearts are breaking here on earth as Patrick James "Pat" Walston, 63, of Metamora, Illinois went home peacefully to the Lord on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 surrounded by loved ones at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born on September 19, 1962 in Peoria, Illinois, a son of James "Jake" R. and Donna (Abner) Walston. Pat married the love of his life, Sandra "Sandy" Myers on December 5, 1987 in Peoria, Illinois at the First Free Methodist Church. She survives.

He is also survived by his mother, Donna; brother, Michael (Cindy) Walston; brother-in-law, Greg Myers; 3 nieces, Brittany Hoskins, Taylor Walston, Breeann Walston; 2 nephews, Brennan and Brody Ulik; our special friend, Dakota Klecha; his special companion fur baby, Scout which will deeply miss Pat; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many many friends.

Pat was preceded in death by his father, Jake; niece, Shalyn Walston; grandparents, Virgil and Sadie Walston, and Orval and Pauline Abner.

Pat was recently working up until he passed at the American Red Cross as a Quality Assurance Associate III.

Pat was a wonderful and amazing husband, son, brother, uncle and friend to many. Pat loved people, pets, being outdoors, traveling to Pittsfield to visit family and friends, and going to hockey games. He belonged to the Peoria Skeet Shooting Club and enjoyed that greatly.

Per Pats wishes cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3pm on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington with Pastor Tom Pisano officiating. Family will receive friends from 1 to 3pm Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service. In honor of Pat, casual dress is requested.
