Patrick Wilson Obituary

Patrick Kernan Wilson, Sr.

In Loving Memory of Patrick Kernan Wilson Sr.

Beloved Father, Friend and Lifelong Storyteller

1964-2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patrick Kernan Wilson Sr., 61, who left this world far too soon. He passed peacefully surrounded by his children, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and lifelong friendships.

A proud graduate of Benedictine High School, Class of 1983, Patrick formed bonds that lasted a lifetime-brotherhoods forged in loyalty and trust. According to Patrick, "You will never see the likes of BHS '83". He went on to graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University and began his professional journey at XPEDX where he cultivated deep and lasting friendships that became a second family.

He was the proud and devoted father of four children, each of whom he adored and spoke of with immeasurable pride. His love of the water, boating, fishing and simply being near the shore- was something he passed down to his children with joy and passion.

A true Washington Redskins fan, Patrick cheered with unmatched spirit-loyal through wins and losses. He could always be counted on for a spirited debate, a warm laugh, or a story.

Patrick never met a stranger. He valued connection above all else, and his genuine warmth left a mark on everyone lucky enough to know him. He had a rare gift for making people feel seen, heard and remembered. He cherished old friends and loved nothing more than catching up, swapping stories and sharing memories that spanned decades. He will be remembered for his quick wit, boundless compassion and the kind of loyalty that never wavered.

He is survived by his four beloved children, Patrick, Garrett, Aidan, and Bridget, who were the joy and pride of his life. He is also survived by his mother, Betty Ann; his brother, Daniel; his sisters, Mary and Liz; along with his nephews, Adam, Bo, Max, and Joseph; and niece, Bernadette. He was predeceased by his father, Dr. Richard Wilson; and sisters, Bernadette and Katie.

A visitation will be held at Bliley's – Central Funeral Home, Augusta Avenue on Wednesday, July 30th from 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bridget Catholic Church on Thursday at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at The Grill on Patterson Avenue, where all are welcome to join in honoring and remembering Patrick's life.
