Patsy Doreen Alles
(nee Ballard)
November 15, 1936 – November 6, 2025
Patsy "Pat" was called to her eternal home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 6, 2025, at age 88, just days shy of her 89th birthday.
Loving wife of the late Thomas for 65 years. Dear mother of Pam (Greg) Wilke, Todd (Barb) Alles, Vicki (Steve) Krause, Brad (Kelly) Alles and Ward (Cheryl) Alles. Proud grandma of 16 grandchildren: Dan (Susan) Wilke, Lisa (TJ) Huenerbein; Angela (Edgardo) DeJesus, Andrew (Amber Lynn) Alles, Amber (Jim) Meulendyke; Erica (John) Ellenberger, Joshua (Rachel) Krause, Kayla (Anthony) Gonzales, Jared Krause, Brenna (Jake) Novak; Makiah Alles, Kaleah Alles; Lauren (Dan) Loke, Cassidy (Tim) Burmeister, Caleb (Sydney) Alles, and Logan Alles. Even prouder matriarch of 32 great grandchildren: Molly, Sadie, Abbie, Kenadie, Gavin, Lanie and Griffin; Cole, Reese and Hudson; Miranda, Saidee, and Syler; Ella, Lilly, and Tommy; Leah, Ruth and James; Grace and Henry; Vincent; Andre, Roman, Jocelyn and Malachi; Ezra and Hayden; Lenora; Bruin and Brighton; and Parker. Preceded in death by her husband Thomas, her sisters Joan Krebs and Beverly Rand, and her parents Bill and Lorraine Ballard.
Pat was born in Milwaukee, the youngest of three Ballard girls. She was confirmed at Elm Grove Lutheran Church and attended Wauwatosa High School where she was captain of the Red Raiders cheerleaders for many exciting sports seasons.
After high school, Pat attended the Deaconess Hospital School of X-Ray Technicians and served in that capacity for two years. In February 1956, Pat married her high school sweetheart Tom Alles at the age of 20. She was a wife, mother and homemaker, raising five awesome children. When all the kids were of school age, she worked in hotel housekeeping for over 20 years to help support their large family.
A faithful member at Elm Grove Lutheran all her life, Pat and Tom placed a high priority on Christian education, sending all five of their children to Elm Grove Lutheran School and Milwaukee Lutheran High School, and their two youngest into the Concordia University system.
Pat's passions were her children "bunnies", grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she rarely missed a game or performance of theirs if she could help it. She was first to laugh at the stories and "all the foolishness" her husband and children came up with. Of course, Pat joined in the foolishness herself. During any nail-biting Packer game, you could literally find mom hiding in the coat closet to avoid the tension. And we have it on good authority; Pat even invented the word "idgy-boo" to accompany the act of lovingly pinching a baby's chubby cheeks.
Throughout her full life, Pat was simply a selfless, humble and beautiful child of God. Even after suffering from Alzheimer's in her late 80s, Pat would share her faith with her caregivers, saying, "I'm not sure why I'm still here, but God is in control, and He must want me to help people."
Indeed, Pat helped so many people and every stage of her life, and we take great comfort knowing she is now forever in the arms of her loving Savior Jesus.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, at ELM GROVE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 945 Terrace Dr., Elm Grove, from 10-11:15 AM, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Elm Grove Lutheran Church or Milwaukee Lutheran High School are appreciated.
