Effie May Alles of Flushing passed away on June 11,2025 at McLaren-Flint. She was 85 years old.
She was born on December 5, 1939 to Earl and Gwinnie (Holt) McClain in Eloise, TN. Effie was a beautician, skilled seamstress, long time owner of a dry cleaning business, as well as a wedding chapel for short period. On March 5, 1959, she married Ronald Alles in Flint, Michigan.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, loved shopping, home decorating, quilting, and if you knew her, you probably have something she sewed for you. She and her husband were fans and heavily involved in drum corps, serving food, driving buses, and attending competitions over 4 decades where they built a large extended family.
Effie is survived by her two daughters, Tina Bright of Flushing, MI, Kay Rouzer of Alpharetta, GA and two grandsons, Tyler Barron, Justin Bright, great grandson, Mason Bright, and two brothers, Frank and Ted McClain.
She was preceded in death by husband, Ronald Alles, father, Earl Guy McClain, mother, Gwinnie Mildred McClain and two brothers, Chuck and Tom McClain.
Private family graveside services will be held at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery.
