Patsy Sue (Ross) Anderson, 88, of Morton Grove, Illinois, passed from this life into eternal life in heaven on December 21, 2022 in her apartment in Deer Park, Illinois, after a long battle with congestive heart failure. She was a faithful woman, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved the Lord, her family, her church, and her community.
Patsy was born to Walter and Jessie (Jennings) Ross in Brookport, Illinois on February 26, 1934, when the Great Depression was in full swing. Shortly after Patsy was born, Walter got a job in Chicago, so the family moved to the city to an apartment near the corner of Belmont and Damen. There she grew up, faithfully attending first Galilee Baptist Church and then Addison Street Baptist Church, where she met her future husband, Ronald Anderson.
Patsy and Ron started dating when Patsy was 16 and then were married three years later on August 15, 1953, when Ron was 21 and Patsy was 19. Shortly after their first son, Steven, was born, the family moved to their house in Morton Grove, where they lived for more than 60 years.
She was an avid volunteer and member of their church, first at Cumberland Baptist and then at Glenview Free Church for many years. Patsy served the Lord and was a follower of Jesus Christ all her days. She loved to lead and be involved in bible studies as well as helped teach English to women in the area who had recently moved from Japan. She spent most summers at their cottage in Algoma, Wisconsin, constantly hosting family and friends. She and Ron enjoyed retirement by traveling to Florida each winter, going on a cruise through Alaska, and visiting Ron's family in Sweden.
She is survived by her three children: Steven Anderson (wife Linda Joy), Dean Anderson (wife Linda Jayne), and Susan (Anderson) LeMay (husband Dennis); seven grandchildren: Joshua Anderson (wife Keila), Jacqui (LeMay) Voss (husband Cameron), Rebecca (Anderson) Ko (husband Jon), Lauren (Anderson) Riviere (husband Andy), Michael LeMay (wife Laíza), Heather (LeMay) Wilmot (husband Zach) and Daniel Anderson (fiancée C.J.); and ten great-grandchildren: Aaron, Harper, Brooklyn, Allison, Elizabeth, Emily, Aria, Ginny, Courtney and Jordan.
Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Anderson. We are thankful that she is again with Ron in heaven, who passed away in 2020.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church (2 Shermer Rd, Glenview, IL 60025).
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital can be made and would be appreciated.
