Patsy Ruth Bishop, 92, of Oregon, OH, passed away at Gardens of St. Francis on October 28, 2024, with family and her best friend Kathy by her side. She was born on January 15, 1932, to Franklin and Marion (Smith) Shrimplin. Patsy graduated from Waite High School in 1950. She worked at Catholic Social Services in the Family Life Department for over 10 years and retired as a director.
The most important thing in life to Patsy was her family for whom she created many memories throughout the years. Her love for them was boundless and she was always just a phone call away to provide love, support, or thoughtful advice. Patsy’s heart broke when her family’s heart broke, she celebrated when they celebrated, and she was so proud of every single one of them. Her Happy Birthday song messages will forever be remembered and cherished as will her hugs and kisses.
Patsy is survived by her children; Greg Kerekes; and Julie (Mike) Fredericksen, her grandchildren; Kacey (Nick), Kristy (Nate), Dylan (Desiree), Joshua (Emily), Zach (caregiver for 7 years), and Tucker (Angie); her great grandchildren, Gage (Jessie), Mason, Ashlye, Little Nick, Madi, Kelcee, Spencer, Tyler, Carter, Tucker, and Rylee. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Julius Kerekes of nearly 50 years; second husband, John Bishop; son, Gary Kerekes, and brother; Glen.
Family and friends may visit St John's Lutheran Church, 21140 W Toledo St, Williston, OH 43468, on Saturday, November 23, 2024, for Patsy's Celebration of Life. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with a service at 11 a.m. Following the service, family and friends will have a luncheon in the basement of St. John's to continue sharing memories of Patsy.
