Patsy Pritt Chestnut

Patsy Pritt Chestnut, 79, of Penn Laird, passed away October 30, 2023 in Harrisonburg. Mrs. Chestnut was born March 26, 1944 in Bath County and was the daughter of the late Frank M. and Emma Frances Tidd Pritt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Lee Hawkins III and a brother, Leslie M. Pritt; brother-in-law, Gary Snyder.
Mrs. Chestnut was a member of the Bethlehem Brethren Church in Harrisonburg and loved beach vacations to the Outer Banks. She was a wonderful cook and an amazing Mom and grandma and friend who will be missed by all those who loved her. She retired from Sunnyside Retirement Community as a food service supervisor after many years of service.
Mrs. Chestnut is survived by a son, Berlie Chestnut and wife, Tammy; a daughter, Cindy Wandless and husband, Ken; a brother, Frank M. Pritt Jr. and wife, Gloria; sisters, Lela Trimble and husband, David, Linda Snyder; grandchildren, Holly Hawkins and Madison Kline.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 5, 2023 at the Kyger Funeral home Chapel in Elkton with Dr. Thomas Smith officiating. Burial will be private at Mount Olivet Cemetery in McGaheysville.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m., Sunday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
The casket will remain closed.
