Patsy Clowers Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by The Springs Funeral Services - Platte on Jan. 14, 2026.
Patsy A. Clowers, 79, passed away January 4, 2026 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born September 27, 1946 to Clarence and Doris Cook in Colorado Springs, the first of 3 children. The family made their home in Peyton, Colorado where Patsy was joined by sisters Jan and Clar. Patsy graduated from Peyton High School in 1964.

Patsy worked at Western Electric/Mountain Bell as an administrative clerk for many years in Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Grand Junction.

In 1966 Patsy met John, and they were married June 1, 1968 at the Peyton Community Church. Over the next 53 years, they traveled near and far together, always together. Patsy and John made a life together on a small ranch northeast of Peyton, raising cattle and horses.

Patsy spent her life coaching, mentoring, volunteering and teaching in Peyton and surrounding communities. From coaching elementary girls basketball, teaching Sunday school at Peyton Community Church, volunteering and trainer of the PVFD, teaching CPR and first aid at Peyton middle school, driving a school bus for Peyton, Patsy was dedicated to serving the community, especially the youth basketball program going back as far as the 1980s. Patsy volunteered as a line judge for volleyball games, chain gang for football games, and finally settled in as clock/timekeeper and scorebook official for Peyton Junior/Senior High School basketball programs. In 2014 Patsy was inducted into Honorary Membership of the Colorado IAABO, one of the leading basketball officials associations in the state.

Patsy is survived by sister Jan Fields of Calhan, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband John, parents Clarence and Doris Cook, sister Clarinda Hall, niece Debbie Hall and great niece Katy Eckelberry.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Peyton High School Booster Club. Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 19, 2026 at 12:00PM, at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs.
