Obituary published on Legacy.com by Elkins Funeral Home - Florence on May 31, 2025.
Surrounded by family and friends, Patsy Coble went to be with Our Lord Jesus on May 29, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband and best friend of 51 years, James Darrell Coble; her parents, Frank Estes and Lillian Potter Estes; nine brothers and sisters; her precious great-granddaughter, Ava Rose Estes; as well as other dear family members and close friends who went before her.
She is survived by her children: James R. "Ron" Coble, Rosemary Coble Raymer (Don), John P. Coble, and Robert F. Coble (Devin), 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Patsy was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church in
Florence, Alabama, where she faithfully served in many roles throughout the years. She was deeply involved in the Colbert-Lauderdale Baptist Association's Women's Missionary Union (WMU) and especially treasured her years as a GA (Girls in Action) Director. The girls she worked with held a special place in her heart, and she fondly recalled the many memories they created together. She loved her Sunday school class and enjoyed their fellowship and friendship until her health no longer allowed her to attend.
Raised in Linden, Tennessee, Patsy was a cheerleader at Perry County High School. She loved to share stories of her classmates and cheering for the school's championship basketball team, which were proud and joyful memories she carried throughout her life.
Patsy was a successful businesswoman and ran Coble's Ornamental Iron, Inc. for over 50 years-43 of those years alongside her husband and partner, James Coble. She took great pride in her work and especially enjoyed the friendships she built with her customers, vendors, and associates.
Her sense of humor, love of laughter, adventurous personality, and devotion to family kept her young at heart. She especially adored her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them-whether shopping, playing board games, being involved with their school activities, or simply hanging out and visiting.
The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Patsy's caregivers, Cynthia Coffey and Nicole Willis, as well as the home health and hospice teams who provided such compassionate support.
A very special thank you is extended to her grandson, Darrell Coble, who lovingly cared for Patsy at home during the earlier stages of her illness, and to her daughter-in-law, Devin Coble, who was deeply dedicated to her care during her final years-coordinating care with other caregivers, managing home health and hospice needs, and lovingly caring for and supporting Patsy each day.
Visitation will be held at Elkins Funeral Home Sunday, June 1, 2025, 2-4 PM. A graveside service will take place at Leeper Cemetery in Lobelville, Tennessee Monday, June 2, 2025 1PM with Bro. Tommy Ferguson.
Pall Bearers will be her grandsons.
