Jonathan Azbill Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Young Funeral Home on Dec. 29, 2025.
Jonathan Andrew Azbill, 53, of Linden, passed away Friday December 19, 2025. He was born at Perry County Hospital on April 28, 1972 to the late Jimmy Calvin Azbill and Willa Kay Majors Azbill. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Linden. He attended Linden Elementary School and graduated from Perry County High School in 1990. He later attended Nashville State Technical College. Jonathan worked for several years at Young Radiator in Lexington, Tn., then at Raney Truss in Decaturville and NYX in Linden until a back injury forced him into early retirement. He enjoyed music, Chicago Cubs Baseball, Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Volunteers Football, and spending time at the river with his friends. Although he had no children of his own, a child at heart, he was a natural with his nieces and nephews and the children and grandchildren of his many friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank and Lucille Majors and his paternal grandparents, James and Mary Azbill and his beloved dog Sophie.

Survivors include his sister Sonya (Jamie) Bunch, nieces, Hayley (Brad) Byrd, Sydney (Aaron) Stewart, Alora (Eric) Pope, nephew Drew (Sky) Bunch, great-nieces Taylor Byrd, Birdie Bunch, great-nephews Atlas and Davis Pope, Bodie and Owen Stewart and a host of many other family and friends.

Jonathan will be laid to rest with his parents at Dr. O. A. Kirk Memorial Cemetery.
