Born April 13, 1936, in Aquadale, North Carolina, Patsy lived a life deeply rooted in faith, family, and joyful connection—leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her. A devoted follower of Christ, Patsy’s life was guided by prayer, Scripture, and faith in God.
Professionally, Patsy served as the school secretary at Hemby Bridge Elementary for 25 years, where she created a warm, welcoming environment for students, families, and staff. Her dedication extended beyond her role, fostering friendships that endured long after retirement. A proud graduate of Kings Business College in Charlotte, she brought both intellect and kindness to every endeavor.
Patsy cherished traveling with her late husband of 55 years, Tommy Hugh Crowell. Their adventures were filled with laughter and discovery, creating treasured memories. She found joy in beach trips, playing cards, enjoying sunsets, and listening to music – a reflection of her fun personality.
Her life was filled with meaningful friendships and a genuine love for sharing time with others. Patsy and Tommy’s home was a sanctuary of love, especially during holidays, when Patsy delighted in preparing meals, choosing thoughtful gifts, and hosting gatherings. She often said, “My cup runneth over,” a reflection of her gratitude for family and friends that surrounded her.
She is survived by her brother, Dan Whitley (Janet); her children, Tommy Kim Crowell, Mitzi Carol Crowell Wiggins (Jim), and Angie Kaye Crowell Harris (Tommy III); seven grandchildren and their spouses: Natalie Smith (Brandon), Brittany Deluca (Mark), Matthew Furr, Holly Viscount (Jonathan), Thomas Harris IV (Jazmine), Morgan Folsom (Tony), and Emily Constantinitis (Zachary); and ten great-grandchildren: Dylan and Tommy Deluca, Adelaide and Griffin Smith, Thomas Harris V, Elizabeth and Victoria Harris, Chloe Constantinitis, Hazel Viscount, and Aili Folsom.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tommy; her parents, Ernest and Eunice Whitley; and her sister, Mary Jane Gray.
Patsy radiated joy and beauty, embracing life with a spirit that made every moment feel like a celebration. Whether sharing meals at her favorite spots or laughing with little ones, she found delight in connection and the pleasures of being together.
