Patsy W. Dowling

Evans, GA – Entered into rest on Sunday, January 30, 2022, Mrs. Patsy W. Dowling, 89, loving wife of 67 years to Mr. Joel P. Dowling.
Born in Waycross, GA, Patsy graduated with honors from Wacona High School in 1949. She continued her education in vocational studies. Patsy worked for various companies as a secretary throughout the years, including Executive Secretary at Augusta College School of Nursing from which she retired in 1992. Not only an incredible wife, mother and grandmother; Patsy served as a Godly role model to many. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and faithfully used her talents leading Bible studies, singing in the choir, preparing meals for others, visiting with shut-ins, sending cards of encouragement, and spending countless hours as an unwavering prayer warrior.
Family members in addition to her husband include her children: Sonya Dowling Rankin and Carl Dowling (Susan); grandchildren: Natalie Rankin, Grant Rankin, Garrett Rankin, Stephen Dowling, Aaron Dowling, Claire Dowling and Thomas Dowling; sister: Jean Cover (Norman); niece: Sheri Strickland Sowell and nephews: Steve Strickland, Brian Cover, Keith Cover, and John Petty. She was preceded in death by her parents: Herman Alexander Winouski and Mattie Everlove Winouski Strickland; sisters: Mary Alice Stickland and Cathleen Petty.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors with Pastor Mark Scholten officiating. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Aaron Dowling, Thomas Dowling, Grant Rankin, Brian Cover, Mark Inouye and Gene Dollander.
