Patsy Fittro Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Larrison Mortuary - Pratt on Feb. 17, 2026.
Patsy Ann Jarnigan Fittro peacefully entered her eternal home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ February 15th 2026 , following a life richly marked by unwavering faith, selfless love, and deep devotion to her family and to others. Her greatest joy was her personal relationship with the Lord, which guided every season of her life and shaped the way she loved and served those around her. Patsy was born on July 27, 1931, on a farm in Meeker, Oklahoma, to Ray and Nell (Tillion) Jarnigan. She was the eldest of four children, alongside her siblings Maurine Gaddis, Jo Soerries, and Tom Jarnigan. From an early age, she developed a strong work ethic and a servant's heart, enjoying riding horses and spending treasured time in the kitchen with her mother and grandmother-places where she first learned the value of care, hospitality, and love. The family later moved to Protection, Kansas, and eventually to Sun City, where Patsy attended school and met her high school sweetheart, Hershel "Mike" Fittro. They were married on August 26, 1949, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in love and commitment. Mike preceded her in death in March 2003. In 2010, Patsy reconnected with a childhood friend, Glenn Knowles, and the two, shared companionship and faith in the later years of her life. During Mike's Naval career, Patsy made many homes for her family before settling in Imperial Beach, California, in 1959. There, she became a manager with the Tupperware Corporation, where her warmth, creativity, and natural ability to connect with people shone brightly. In the 1980s, she was among the first to own and operate a balloon bouquet and decorating business, A Balloon Celebration, delighting others through creativity and celebration. In 1990, Patsy and her husband retired to Coats, Kansas. Patsy was a devoted and loving mother to four daughters: Theresa (Patrick) Andres, Vickie Cole, Liane (Mark) Rogers, and Michele (John) Martin. Her family was the great joy of her life. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, each of whom she cherished deeply and prayed for faithfully. Above all else, Patsy's life was a testimony of faith. She cherished her daily walk with the Lord and found peace, strength, and purpose through prayer and Scripture. She loved the Word of God and delighted in sharing it with others, always eager to encourage, teach, and uplift. Patsy had a special gift for helping others see Christ's love in practical, meaningful ways and found great fulfillment in teaching young children about Jesus, both in California and Kansas. Her life reflected her desire to honor the Lord and help others embody His name and faith. Patsy also enjoyed cooking, sewing, and crafting, often using these talents as expressions of love and service. She took great pride in teaching her daughters these skills, ensuring they carried forward traditions of care, creativity, and generosity. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Fittro; her parents, Ray and Nell Jarnigan; her sisters, Maurine Gaddis and Jo Soerries; her daughters, Vickie Cole and Liane Rogers; and her great-grandsons, Trevor Garrison and Phillip Searight. Patsy's legacy is one of faith lived out daily-through kindness, service, and a heart fully surrendered to the Lord she loved so dearly. Her favorite saying was…."Jesus loves you and so do I". Viewing will be March 4th 2026 4-7pm at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 5th 2026 at First Southern Baptist Church, Pratt. Burial to follow at Coats Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
