Patsy Jones Obituary

Patsy Ann Burdine Jones, age 89, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away at Hillcrest Home on Friday, December 12, 2025.

The daughter of Rufus Burdine and Effie (Davis) Shatwell was born June 12, 1936 at Redrock, Arkansas. She was a lifelong resident of Newton and Boone Counties. She attended grade school at Log Hall and graduated from Mount Judea High School in 1954. Patsy Ann married Charles Bruce Jones September 19, 1957 and they were married 61 years when he passed away in July 2019.

Patsy Ann was baptized at Jasper Church of Christ and had recently been attending services at Hillcrest Chapel.

She worked at Levi's for several years before joining Duncan Industries. She worked at Duncan for 30 years before retiring. She was a mother figure to many co-workers and developed many lifelong friendships while she worked there.

Patsy Ann enjoyed journaling, drawing, and researching family history. Her family meant everything to her. She loved visiting with family and friends. She was the best mom her kids could have ever asked for. She was an exceptional person with phenomenal work ethics and personal values. In all her years of working, she never missed a day and always found a way to get to work and do her job despite any obstacles in her way. Patsy Ann passed on those work ethics and values to her children and grandchildren.

She never met a stranger and was always eager to talk to people and ask questions about their family. She loved to track ancestry.

Patsy Ann left a legacy of hard work, resilience, strength and love that her family and friends will treasure for generations.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bruce Jones; her father, Rufus Burdine; her mother and stepfather, Effie and Elver Shatwell; grandparents, Eldridge and Anna Mae Davis; two sisters, Mary Dee Casey and Mavis Hancock; and two brothers, Robert Nelson Burdine and Carl Shatwell.

Patsy Ann is survived by her children, Tana (Terry) Long, Lena Jones, Jimmy (Angie) Jones, Brent (Teresa) Jones, and Patrick (Vickie) Jones; her siblings and their spouses, Flona Smith, Maxine Shelton, Ida Smith, R.L. Burdine, Annie Monday, George Burdine, Louene Ricketts, Rhonda Vanderpool, Thelma Pruitt, Vonna Smith, and Farrell Shatwell; 14 grandchildren, Megan, Jeff, Shawna, Brett, Bethany, Britney, Justin, Heath, Callie, Jakob, Bannon, Cayman, Ryan, and Alissa; 21 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many dear friends who loved her and will miss her.

Visitation will be at 10:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM both on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper. Pastor Paul Hochstedler will officiate. Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery.
