Patsy Lewis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Miller Funeral Services - Houston on May 31, 2023.
Patsy Jane Lewis, 71, of Richmond, Texas, passed away on May 28, 2023. She was born on November 21, 1951, in Velasco, Texas to Pat and Jane Fowler, and lived her life as a proud Texan.
Patsy attended Almeda Elementary, Parker Elementary, Johnston Junior High and Westbury High School in Houston. She was involved in Girl Scouts from 2nd grade all the way through her senior year in high school and was a proud member of the debate teams at Johnston Junior High, Westbury High School and Texas Tech University. She received a business degree from the University of Texas-Austin, but her heart belonged to Texas Tech University where she spent three years before transferring to UT. Patsy's early career was in banking before she was employed by Brown and Root in the international accounting department where she met her husband John. She later received her Master's Degree in Education from Sam Houston State University and entered the teaching field in both the Humble and Fort Bend County school districts, retiring in 2013.
Patsy married John in 1982, and together they raised their 3 children in Humble, Texas. She was so organized that she was able to be the best in her roles of wife, mother and professional worker. Patsy also volunteered her time to many groups and organizations including Sunday school teacher, church finance office support, church youth group mentor, high school scholarship review committee, knitting with 2 needlecraft groups, military care package outreach, and packing lunches for underprivileged children. She loved to take cruises, go on road trips, visit casinos, hunt for geocaches, paint rocks to scatter around her community, create special memory books for the family, and bake all kinds of sweets for family and friends; however, what Patsy loved most was being Grandma to her 7 beautiful grandchildren.
Patsy is survived by her husband of over 41 years, John; children, Amy (Paul) Laskoski, Matthew (Sarah) Lewis, and Ryan Lewis; and grandchildren Jane, Michael, Kate, and Rachel Laskoski, and Keren, Naomi, and Silas Lewis. She is also survived by her brother Bill (Cathy) Fowler, and sisters Marie (David) Neely and Elaine (Blair) Eakin. Patsy's extended family and friends are too numerous to name, but each and every one of them were loved and held a special place in her heart.
A memorial service for Patsy will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 800 Houston Avenue, Houston, Texas at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2023. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Patsy's memory may be made to two of her favorite outreach groups; Phil's Friends (philsfriends.org) and Lunches of Love (lunchesoflove.net).
Rest in peace, Patsy. You will be missed and forever remembered by your loved ones and all those whose lives you so dearly touched.
