Patsy Miller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Williams Funeral Chapel - Holden on Mar. 10, 2025.
Patsy Mae (Austin) Miller, 83, of the Kingsville/Holden area, entered the gates of Heaven on the morning of March 4, 2025. She was born on August 4th, 1941, in Holden MO, to Francis Leroy Austin and Nellie Realia Cummins. As the youngest of four children, Patsy was a cherished daughter and sister, growing up surrounded by love and faith.
Patsy graduated from Chilhowee High School in 1959. On June 1, 1959, she married the love of her life, Merle M. Miller. Together, they built a life centered on faith, hard work, and family, raising three beloved daughters. Patsy was a devoted wife, nurturing mother, and a cherished friend to many.
She had a heart for teaching and spent years sharing her faith by instructing various age groups in church. Throughout her working years, she was a dedicated and hardworking woman, serving as a waitress and working at the Holden Garment Factory before beginning a 25-year career at Western Electric/AT&T, from which she eventually retired. After retirement, she continued to stay active, working at Greason Greenhouse and dedicating herself to her family's farm, Miller's Wooly Acres, for 56 years.
Patsy and her husband, Merle, shared a passion for farming, raising sheep whose wool she would spin into yarn. She was an active member of the Spinner's Guild and participated in demonstrations at Missouri Town and other historical events, sharing her craft and love of traditional fiber arts with others. She will always be remembered for her unwavering faith, her generous spirit, and the deep love she had for her family and community.
Patsy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Merle M. Miller, parents, Francis and Nellie Austin; her sister, Glenna Austin; her brother, Keith Austin; her sister-in-law, Virginia Austin; her niece, Janet Austin; her daughter, Angela Cherri Roberson; and her great-grandson, Kamron Bowman.
She is survived by her brother, Jimmy Austin Sr. of Kingsville, MO; her niece, Chantell Benware of Pleasant Hill, MO; her nephew Jimmy Austin Jr (Robin), of Chilhowee, MO, her sister-in-law, Clara Austin of Sacramento, CA; niece Nancy Gemignani (Steven) of Sacramento, CA; nephew Keith Austin Jr. (Angela) of Lucerne, CA.
