Patsy Ray Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Aug. 19, 2025.
Patsy L. Ray was born March 15, 1947, to Ross and Grace Carver in Reeds Spring, MO. One of twelve children, she spent most of her childhood in Springfield, MO. She shared a special bond with her brothers and sisters and loved to tell stories of the games they made up and the adventures they had.

In 1963 she married the love of her life, Steve Ray. Together they had three children, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, one of whom was born on her birthday.

She was great at everything she did. Whether it was athletics, like triple-A softball and bowling or making Halloween costumes and baby doll clothes for her kids. She was a wonderful cook, if you've ever tried one of her pies, you know what I mean.

One of her gifts was the ability to create anything out of nothing. If you told her what you needed or wanted to make, she made it happen with what she could find around the house.

But her greatest gift was the loving way she took care of her family. Nothing was too much to ask, though you never really needed to ask. If you needed her, she was there. She was a patient and sweet soul who showed kindness to everyone she met. Her presence will be sorely missed.

On August 11, 2025, she joined her husband of almost 50 years, her parents, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

She is survived by her children Jackie Green and Husband Rob, Judge Ray and wife Angela, Mandie Shepard and husband Wes. Grandchildren, Ashtin Calderon and husband Shawn, Fisher Ray and wife Tessa, Parker Ray, Rhys Green, Connor Shepard, Haven Ray and Spencer Pojar, and Teague Shepard. Great-grandchildren, Timberlynn Calderon, Everleigh Calderon, Annalise Calderon, Stevie Ray, Preston Ray, and Dallas Ray. Siblings, Betty Maggard, Judy Harvey and husband Jack, Larry Carver and wife Becky, and too many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends to count.
