Patsy L. Siriano, 90, of St. Joseph, formerly of Riverside, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023, at Caretel Inn.
Patsy was born on June 16, 1932, in Braggadocio, Mo., to Edward and Lois (Allen) Hatley. She was raised by Lois and her stepfather Pete Sears, after Edward (Justice of the Peace) passed away when she was 7 years old. Pasty grew up in Missouri. She helped her family by picking cotton and singing on the radio on the weekends with her sister.
In the summer time, her family would travel to Michigan to fish on Lake Michigan. When Patsy was 14, it was decided that she would move to Michigan and attended school at Benton Harbor High School. This is where she met the love of her life, Anthony Siriano. They married on Feb. 9, 1952, in Benton Harbor.
Patsy worked for Whirlpool Corp., as well for local attorneys as a legal secretary, and also worked as a waitress at the Siriano family's Greenland Inn. She was a devoted mother and participated in her children's school and their activities. Patsy was a Girl Scout leader and started the very first library and basketball team at Riverside Hagar #6 School.
In her spare time, she loved to travel on the drop of a dime, take the family to the local beaches, and enjoyed reading, sewing and cooking. The most important time spent was with her family, and even up until 90 years old, she kept in touch with family and friends on Facebook. In her last few years, she absolutely loved the people at Caretel Inn and all that their nursing staff did for her.
Patsy is survived by her children: Lynda Siriano-Martinez (husband, Alvaro) of Benton Harbor, Christopher Siriano (fiancée, Elizabeth Holowasko) of Eau Claire and Sam A. Siriano of Eau Claire; grandchildren: Ali (Cody) Warren, Emily Siriano, Luke (Megan) Siriano and Seth Siriano; and great-grandchildren: Colton and Isabelle Warren and Ryson and Jace Siriano; and many cousins in the Allen, Glass and Champion families.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anthony Siriano, and sister, Ginger Spina.
A celebration of life memorial will be from 2-6 p.m. at Stonegate Manor on Sunday, June 18.
