Patsy Wayne Squyres

Funeral services for Patsy Wayne Squyres, 70, of Longview, will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Ty Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Lufkin.
Mrs. Squyres was born on August 31, 1953, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late J.T. Lakey and Nell (Moore) Lakey, and died Saturday, October 7, 2023, in Longview.
Mrs. Squyres was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid reader and loved to cook. Mrs. Squyres enjoyed traveling with her close friends and watching the Texas Ranger baseball. She also loved needle point and to go fishing. Mrs. Squyres enjoyed bowling with her husband and they went on many bowling trips together.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Dwight "Chester" Squyres of Longview; daughter, Tabithia Squyres of Longview; grandson and fiancé, Nathin Chong and Mercedes "Cede" McGregor of Dallas; granddaughter, Olivia Jones of Longview; special friends, Jack and Florence Greene of Lufkin, and Dennis Manthei; cousin, David Cromeens and wife Brandy of Tyler; and cousin, Roy Winkelmann of Lufkin.
Mrs. Squyres was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Lakey; grandparents, Ernest and Essie Moore; aunt and uncle, Sue and Frank Cromeens; cousin, Rachel Winkelmann; and cousin, Becky Cromeens.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Squyres, David Squyres, Austin Squyres, Jack Greene, Paul Pollock, and Phil Fazenvaker.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Shafer Funeral Home, prior to the funeral service.
