Graveside services will be held for Mrs. Patsy Ruth Geter Williams, age 83, at Arlington Cemetery in Homer, LA, on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 11:30 a.m., with Rev. Jeff Roberts, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer, LA, on Saturday from 10-11, prior to the graveside.
Mrs. Williams was born March 17, 1939, in Lillie, LA, to William and Cleo Slater Geter. She entered into rest on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, in Homer, LA. Mrs. Williams was a CNA in the medical field for years. She was also a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, painting, collecting old things such as buttons, coins, and stamps at garage sales and flea markets. She loved going fishing especially with her partner Aunt Nina. Mrs. Williams had a garden where she always had fresh vegetables for canning and to prepare for family meals. She was an exceptional cook and taught her recipes to her daughter, who won blue ribbon at the fair every year. Mrs. Williams enjoyed traveling especially to Branson, MO, Yellowstone National Park, and the Grand Canyon. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great, great-grandmother.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents; first husband and father to her children, Charles Ray Smith; sister, Jean Pate; brother, Leo Geter; and son-in-law, William Ray "Ruple" Winget.
She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Donald R. Williams, SR; son, Donald Ray Smith and wife Aprile of El Dorado, AR; daughter, Clarinda Winget and husband Mark of Pineville, LA; four grandchildren, Melinda Hollingsworth, Kemberly Ann Kidd and husband Michael, Henry Winget, and Patti Sue Tyson and husband Brock; thirteen great-grandchildren; twelve great, great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be J-Bird McKenzie, Ray Williams, Michael Kidd, Bert Thomas, Gary Smith, and Henry Winget.
