Patsy G. (Groce) Winters, 89, of Sweetser, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023, at Wesleyan Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Marion, IN. She was born in Yadkin County on Aug. 16, 1933, to Odell and Angie (Vestal) Groce. On Nov. 10, 1951, she married Ralph Winters. Patsy graduated from Boonville High School and retired from General Tire after 33 years of service. She also volunteered at Marion General Hospital. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and enjoyed going to church events. She also enjoyed reading, traveling, working crossword puzzles, and watching basketball. Survivors include her sons, Mike (Jean) Winters, Curt (Mary) Winters, and Daniel "Andy" (Patricia) Winters; five grandchildren, Brian Winters, Heather (Dustin) Hartwell, Michael Winters, Melissa (Nick) Capobianco, and Madeline Winters (Alex John); great-grandchildren, Kane Capobianco, Gavin Winters, Sophie Winters, Jaxon Winters, Dana Hartwell, Caroline Hartwell, and Syler Hartwell; four great-great-grandchildren; brother, David (Judy) Groce; sister, Ann Clark; brother-in-law, Abe (Shirley) Winters; sister-in-law, Zula Darnell; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Sallie Mae Groce; sister-in-law, Mary White; brother-in-law, Donald Winters; and nephew, Ronnie White. The family will receive visitors from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. A funeral service to celebrate Patsy's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 23, at North Chapel, preceded by an additional hour of visitation beginning at 12 noon. Pastor Terry Bishir will be officiating with burial following at Gardens of Memory in Marion. Memorial contributions may be directed to Liberty Baptist Church, 517 Church St., Sweetser, IN 46987.
