Funeral services for Patsy A. Zoet, age 73, of Sheldon who passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024, at Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley. Her funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Faith Community Church in Sheldon with Pastor Kevin Gingerich, officiating.

Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.

Visitation will be after 3 P.M. on Thursday, September 5, 2024, with family present from 5 to 7 P.M. at Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Conquering Cancer 4 O’Brien County.

 PATSY A. ZOET

 Patsy Ann Van Dyke, the daughter of William J. and Annetta (Vanden Hul) Van Dyke was born August 7, 1951, in Primghar, Iowa. She attended school in Archer and graduated from Sheldon Community School in 1969. After graduation Patsy moved to Boulder, Colorado where she worked as an Account Executive in advertising and marketing in various corporations. She retired in 2017. She lived in Boulder/Westminster until 2020.

 In 1982, she was united in marriage to Terry Rivers, they were blessed with one son, Michael. In 2002 Patsy married Scott Meile until he preceded her in death in 2019.  In 2021, Patsy married the love of her life, Dean Zoet, in Sheldon, Iowa. Dean and Patsy enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing card games, traveling, and visiting her son and family in Colorado and Dean’s family.

 She was an active member of the Eagle’s Club, church and Bible study group. She enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. She was very outgoing and enjoyed people.

 Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Dean; son, Michael (Lindsey) Rivers; grandchildren, Terry and Rae Lynn; three sisters, Joanne Heerde of Sheldon, Jeanne (Bob) Ver Mulm of Sioux Center, Marcia Wassenaar of Sheldon; Dean’s children, Dean Jr. (Roxanne) Zoet of Madelia, Minnesota, Chris (Diane) Zoet of Archer, Kari Morton of Omaha; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

 Patsy was preceded in death by her husbands, Terry Rivers and Scott Meile, her parents, her sisters, Carol and Judy, brothers-in-law, David Meyer, Duane Heerde and Daryl Wassenaar.
