Patti Ruth Chenoweth, 91 years of age, ended her earthly journey Friday, January 17, 2025, with her daughter Maria by her side in Gatesville, Texas.
Patti Ruth is off making the best martinis she’s ever made while chatting with her mother, father, eight siblings, four husbands (and she “loved every single one of ’em!”), and her eldest son. She has a lot to fill them in on about her life since the last time they saw each other.
Patti will tell them about all the adventures she had with her second husband, Glen Chenoweth, and their three children. She will tell stories about the lifelong friends she made during her travels, such as Isabell Tomè and Maryann Hernandez and the proud moments she had for all her children. Patti will share about the summer trips across the country with her two grandchildren Caleb “Boomer” and Alexis “Krissy” and the changes in technology she experienced such as the internet, cell phones, video chat calls, the camera in her car and being able to make calls from her car. She will be able to tell them about her beloved Red Lobster closing in College Station and that they made the best martinis and had her favorite flounder... and so much more.
Patti had a full life of travels and ups and downs. Patti began her life as a share crop farmer’s daughter in the Great Depression. She then attended modeling school in NYC, lived in multiple countries and raised her granddaughter Alexis from a baby to the woman she is today. She always had a life full of love, family, and friends no matter what life threw at her. As she would always say when you wanted to try something new but were unsure, “Vale la pena.” (It’s worth the pain, an idiom in Spanish meaning it is worth it.)
Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Jay H. Woods and Bessie Woods; her brothers, Joe Carson, R.C., and Bryan; her sisters, Ruby, Uell, Aillean, JoAnn, and Ethel; her husbands, Christian Clark, Glenn Chenoweth, Kelton Ehrensberger, Emmitte “Heck” Williams; and her eldest son, Steve Clark.
Patti is lovingly remembered by her children, Reece Chenoweth, Maria (Chenoweth) Weems, Terance “Terry” Chenoweth; her two grandchildren: Caleb “Boomer” Pankey and Alexis K (Chenoweth) Genco; several nieces and nephews, and many more dearly held friends.
