Pattie Jane Arterburn Thomas, 92, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026. Born on November 25, 1933 in Jacksonville, FL, she was known for her love of her home state, dogs, and eating at Longhorn Steakhouse with her family. Mrs. Thomas worked at Riverside Presbyterian Day School (RPDS) for over a decade and for a number of years with her husband at Independent Life as an insurance professional. She started her own medical transcription business working for many Jacksonville medical professionals before retiring.
She is survived by her three children Walter Thomas, Joy Schultz, and Dalton Merritt Thomas; four grandchildren, Kyle Thomas, Nicole Thomas, Joshua Thomas, and Jacqueline Schultz; and three great-grandchildren. She is predeceased in death by her husband of 60 years, James Naughton Thomas.
She will be buried at Riverside Memorial Park on Tuesday March 10, 2026. The family will be holding a Celebration of Life in March. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Blanding Boulevard Baptist Church, 5005 Blanding Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32210.
