Patty L. Batten, 96, of Pittsburg, KS, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. She was born August 27, 1929, in Newton, KS, to Jack and Lois Palmer. She moved with her parents to Wichita, KS, as a child and graduated from North High School.

Patty married Billy Joe Batten on September 3, 1949. She worked for Boeing for a number of years in Wichita. When her husband joined the Border Patrol, they and their children lived in Texas, California, and Washington before moving back to Kansas. They settled in Pittsburg, where Patty worked as a bookkeeper for many years. Upon her retirement from bookkeeping, she worked as a Technical Processor for the Pittsburg Public Library. She was past president of Business and Professional Women's Club and belonged to the Eastern Star for years.

She was a devoted member of Frontenac United Methodist Church.

Patty is survived by her daughter, Nikki Knaup and husband, Dan; a granddaughter who was raised in the home, Crystal Horning, and her husband, Russell. She is also survived by her sister, Marilyn Ulrich; her grandchildren, Charlie Clothier, Laura Clothier, Lindsey Greve, Matthew Batten, Anson Knaup and wife, Brenna, Shara Wood and husband, Zack, and Brett Knaup; along with several great-grandchildren, Cameron Horning, Grayson Batten, Elijah Batten, Landon Knaup, Zarrah Wood, Ace Wood, Aspyn Wood, Starr Wood, Peyton Knaup, and Cade Knaup. Patty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Marge; and a son, Eldon.

Patty loved going on cruises with her sister, Marilyn, and playing Bingo or cards with her friends. She lived life to the fullest and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bath-Naylor Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at Frontenac United Methodist Church from 1:00–1:45 p.m. on Friday, November 28, 2025 followed by her funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Following the burial, you are invited for food and fellowship at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Frontenac United Methodist Church. A special thanks to Americare–Carrington Place, Arma Health and Rehab, and Harry Hynes Hospice.
