Patty J. Retherford

Patty J. Retherford age 78 of Newton Falls passed away on Tuesday Nov. 4, 2025 at the Hospice House of Poland. She was born on Aug. 15, 1947 in Adolph, West Virginia. She is the daughter of the late Arthur and Edith (Armstrong) Fincham.

A resident of Newton Falls since 1975; Patty had worked as a nurse's aide at the former Charles Court. On May 22, 1975, she married the love of her life, William Retherford. Together they shared 50 years of marriage.

Patty was of Methodist faith and attended Pricetown Methodist Church in Newton Falls and her brother in laws church, the First Assembly of Pentecost in Braceville Twp. In her spare time, she enjoyed gambling and playing the slots, gardening and planting flowers, reading a good book and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, William; daughter Rebecca (Richard) Scofield of Cortland, two sons, Bobby Cappadony and Mickey (Robin Manos) Retherford, both of Champion Twp.; three sisters Jeanne Jones of Garrettsville, Dottie (William) McCartney of Braceville and Carolyn King of Garrettsville; a brother Don Fincham of Windham; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Dorena Cabosky, and several siblings, brothers Shirley, Neil, Doyal, and Charles Fincham and sisters Linda Fincham and Opal Taylor.

According to Patty's wishes; cremation will take place and no calling hours or services will be held.
