Patty Lynn Simmerman

Patty Lynn Simmerman, of Covington, passed away on Friday, November 28th, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital at the age of 50. She worked as a property manager, but the majority of her time was spent caring for others. Mrs. Patty had such a big heart, and she made sure that everyone felt loved and knew that she had their back. She was always smiling, and having a good time. She loved being around people, and especially enjoyed gathering for family dinners where she got to cook and bring people together.
Mrs. Patty liked being outside, floating the river, going camping, and riding around watching the sun set. A "selfie queen," she loved taking pictures and sharing her memories with her family and friends. If there was a sale, Mrs. Patty was going to know about it. She loved thrifting and antiques, and was always hunting for a bargain. Karaoke was also a favorite pastime of Mrs. Patty, but her favorite way to spend her spare time was with her grandchildren. She loved her grandbabies dearly!
To cherish her memory, she is survived by her children, Danielle (Patrick) Simmerman, Haley Sherrod, Dylan (Sam) Sherrod, Wesley Stover, Maddy Stover, Antonius Miller, Zechariah Miller, and Raul Manning; her grandchildren, Kaiden Woods, Aiden Peery, Adriana Peery, Raylyn Sherrod, Makena Sherrod, and Shane Glover; her sister, Mary Simmerman; her father, Rickey Simmerman; her "uncle grandpa," Danny (Suzanne) Simmerman, and her husband, Steven "Steve" Sandy.
Mrs. Patty is preceded in death by her daughter, Erica Sherrod; her mother, Linda Simmerman; and her grandparents, Nadine Simmerman and Roby Vandiver, and Louise and Billy Miles.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Covington Funeral Home, with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery in Covington. Visitation for friends and family will begin two hours prior to the service in the chapel. Mr. Jimmy Butler will officiate, with Kaiden Woods, Terrell Tate, Roby Vandiver, II, Eric Grisham, Bruce McDivitt, and Michael Simmerman honored to serve as pallbearers.
