Paul Adams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Northside Chapel Funeral Directors and Crematory on Feb. 21, 2026.
Paul K. Adams, of Alpharetta, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday,

February 20, 2026. He passed peacefully at his home, just as he wished.

Paul was born on June 29, 1934, at Grady Memorial Hospital and was raised in Decatur. He graduated

from Avondale High School, Class of 1954. Just days after graduation, he boarded a train bound for

Naval Training Center San Diego for boot camp. He proudly served the next four years in the United

States Navy and the United States Marine Corps as a corpsman, in Jacksonville, Florida. Paul cherished

sharing stories from this meaningful chapter of his life and it was here in Jacksonville that he

celebrated the births of his first two daughters, Sandy and Suzy.

Following his military service, Paul worked in Jacksonville as a surgical technician and inhalation

therapist. He later moved to Orlando, where he operated the heart-lung machine and was honored to

participate in the first open-heart surgery performed in the city. It was in Orlando that he met the love

of his life, Nancy Modisett. Together they shared 51 joyful years of marriage and raised their daughter,

Holly.

Paul had a lifelong love of sports. He served as a high school football official with the Georgia Football

Officials Association and later as a golf marshall on the 18th hole at The Players Championship at TPC

Sawgrass-a role he truly enjoyed for more than 20 years.

An entrepreneur at heart, Paul founded his own company, Adams Southeastern Medical Gas Systems

Specialist, where he built a respected career serving the medical community.

Saved at the age of five, Paul's faith remained the cornerstone of his life. For the past 51 years, he was

a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Alpharetta.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie Maureen Black Adams and Thomas Paul "Rudy"

Adams; his sister, Gail Adams Pollock; and his daughter, Susan Elaine Adams.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy; his daughters, Sandy Adams and Holly Bentley; his son-in-

love, Matthew Bentley; his grandson, Branden Delucia; his granddaughters, Elizabeth Bodenhamer and

Jordanna Crump; his great-granddaughters, Alexis, Kallie, Charlye and Ashlynn; and four great-great-

grandsons, along with many other family members whom he loved dearly.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel at First Baptist Church of Alpharetta on Wednesday, February 25,2026 at 1pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiply Initiative at First Baptist Church of Alpharetta.
