Companion Funeral & Cremation Service - ClevelandDr. Paul Edward Anderson, a devoted physician, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, at the age of 91.
Born in Athol, Massachusetts, on December 11, 1933, Paul was the youngest son of Walter Frank Anderson and Blanch Evalena Myers Anderson. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Roger Anderson, sister-in-law Diane, and their daughter Amy.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Jerry Mildred Jeyrryl Team Anderson; his children, Joseph Edward Anderson (Connie) and Ruth Ellen Anderson; and his grandson, Benjamin Wade Anderson. He is also lovingly remembered by his extended family: nieces Lis Anderson and Wendy Anderson, and nephews Eric Anderson and Dana Anderson.
Paul attended Athol High School and continued his education at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. He pursued pre-medical studies at Southern Adventist University and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University.
Throughout his academic journey, Paul demonstrated remarkable perseverance, caring for his family while his daughter underwent two brain surgeries. His compassion extended into his professional life, where he practiced medicine for many years. Later, he founded a clinic in Altamont, Tennessee, dedicated to serving uninsured patients-charging only $15 per office visit-a testament to his selflessness and commitment to accessible care.
Paul's interests included playing the trumpet, walking, reading the Bible, and building-having constructed seven homes over his lifetime. His hands were never idle, and his heart was always full.
The family extends special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga's Dayton Team and Laurelbrook Nursing Home for their compassionate care.
Paul was a member of Cedar Ridge Adventist Church, where he also taught Sabbath School. A Celebration of Life will be held at Cedar Ridge Adventist Church, November 1, 2025, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Visitation and refreshments to follow.
Paul proudly served in the U.S. Army at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. A military graveside service will be held at a later date.
