Paul Richard Beichler, age 94, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 16, 2024 in Mechanicsburg, PA
Paul was born August 3, 1930 in Sterling, Ohio to John and Ruth (Smith) Beichler. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1948 and attended Cornus Hill Bible College in Akron, Ohio. He was a carpet installer and began working at Maibach's Furniture in Sterling at age 16. Many years later he went into business for himself. Paul served nine years as a missionary with the American Missionary Fellowship in Southern Ohio. He served for 15 years as a volunteer at Smithville Western Care Center holding two services a month on Sundays for the residents. He was also a member of the Royal Volunteers for New Tribes Mission in Sanford, Florida. Paul was a long-time member of Wooster Grace Brethren Church and the last few years at Pleasant Hill Baptist of Smithville. In 1999, Paul and his wife were nominated for the National Senior Medal of Ministry in the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches. Paul enjoyed sports, gardening, traveling, people, and a competitive game of cards. He loved his family dearly.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Frances (Lee) Beichler, his parents, brothers Jim, Carl, William, John, and Jack, and sisters Arlene Ennis, Sally Svoboda, and Thelma Beery. Surviving are his children – Steve (Judi) Beichler of Mechanicsburg, PA; Paula (Chris) Foy of Wooster, OH, and Robyn (Andy Dugan) Hage of Toledo, OH. Grandchildren Matt Eisinger, Nate (Dana) Eisinger, and Sara (Andy) Hurley, Jennifer (Jesse) Hartman, Elizabeth (Jared) Haas and David Beichler. His brother, David Beichler, also survives along with many great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, Dec. 21st at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with Pastor Stephen Olsen officiating. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call on Friday, from 4-7 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
